Privacy Policy

Aikido Portal (info.aikido.or.kr, the “Site”) values your privacy and complies with applicable personal information protection laws, including Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act. This policy explains what personal information the Site collects, why, how long it is kept, and what rights you have.

1. Information We Collect and How

(1) When you sign up or log in

  • Username, password (stored encrypted), name, nickname, email address
  • When you use social login (Kakao, Naver, Google, Facebook): the member identifier, name or nickname, email and profile information provided by that service, within the scope you consent to. If no email is provided, the Site assigns an internal placeholder address; you can later register and verify a real email.

(2) While you use the Site

  • Home dojo, phone number, profile introduction and social links (if you entered them)
  • Posts, comments, attached images and files you write, and your inquiries
  • Information you register on the Aikido Dojos and Budo Shop boards (dojo name, address, contact, email, photos, etc.). You enter this information yourself for public display.

(3) Collected automatically

  • IP address at signup, first and latest login time and IP, successful and failed login records
  • Server access logs (IP, access time, requested URL, browser information) and cookies
  • Visit statistics (visitor-count cookies, Google Analytics)

2. Purposes of Use

  • Identifying members; signup, login and account management; identity verification
  • Confirming your home dojo (dojo leader confirmation) and assigning or changing your member level
  • Providing boards, comments and other services; answering inquiries; sending notices and service emails
  • Preventing abuse and ensuring security (login attempt limits, intrusion detection)
  • Analyzing usage statistics and improving the Site

3. Retention Period

Personal information is deleted without delay when you withdraw your membership. The following are kept for the periods stated.

  • Re-registration block after withdrawal (7 days): To prevent abusive re-registration right after withdrawal, only a one-way hash of your social account identifier and email is kept for 7 days and then deleted. The original information cannot be recovered from it.
  • Access logs: Server access logs are kept for security and troubleshooting and deleted after a set period.
  • Any period required by applicable law

Inactive member management

  • After 90 days without logging in, your member level is changed to “Online Member” to protect your account. We email you about two weeks beforehand (except members without a registered email). When you log in again and verify your identity by email, your original level is restored.
  • After 1 year without logging in, your account becomes “dormant”. Management of the posts you wrote is delegated to the administrator, and the information you registered on the Aikido Dojos and Budo Shop boards is hidden from the public (visible only to administrators; not deleted). When you return and verify your identity by email, the delegation and hiding are automatically reversed.

4. Provision to Third Parties

As a rule, the Site does not provide your personal information to third parties. The exceptions are:

  • Home dojo confirmation: When you select your home dojo, your name, nickname, username, email, phone number, signup date and selected dojo are sent by email or messenger to that dojo’s leader for confirmation. The leader must use this information only to verify your membership.
  • When required by law or requested by investigative authorities through lawful procedures

7. Destruction of Personal Information
